Rita’s findings

Almost all of my findings found a 2nd home, where they will be loved and tell a story of a faraway land. I’m still amazed by the beauty I saw during my travels and hope to continue spreading it everywhere I go, sharing with those who fall in love with the beautiful and unique work of amazing artists.

For now, the only piece left is the one below – one of my favorites and perhaps that’s the reason why it’s still with me. But in case someone loves it, as much as I do, let me know!

It’s from Xamtai, a village in the border of Laos and Vietnam, where I found the most incredible pieces of weaving art. I bought it in Vientiane, from Phout’s daughter. Phout is a weaver I met when I visited Xamtai. It took 5 months to be weaved, the silk is from the village’s silk farm, and the money I paid went straight to the weaver.

One of the things I like the most about traveling is being able to share my experiences and findings with other people.

Recently I have decided to also share some of the beautiful work I find while on the road – because I believe beauty needs to be spread!

For those who don’t know I’ve long had a passion for weaving and textiles, and I found some incredibly beautiful work here in Southeast Asia. Work that I want other people to have access to.

The pieces I’m selling were acquired from the weavers themselves, from cooperatives, or from stores that pay a fair amount to the weavers. They are unique pieces. For some of the pieces I can send a picture of the artist too 😉

I hope they can bring color, warmth and a pinch of Asia to amazing people around the world.

Enjoy!

Aproveitem!
